In Aspects of the Spiritual Life the essentials of the spiritual life as may be lived in today’s world, are set out clearly and concisely in a simple account of the Rule and Work of the Order. Herein the author discusses the contemplative ‘Way’ as a vital link in the golden chain of a living spiritual tradition, not as a royal road to acquiring magical power and arcane knowledge, but the quiet way of abiding in the ‘Presence’ of the Word – the Holy and Divine Logos – the Lord Jesus Christ.

Allan Armstrong is the prior of the Order of Dionysis & Paul, a position he has held since 1991. He has devoted his life to developing a greater understanding of the spiritual life and the path of spiritual perfection.
